The Inn has 39 individually decorated guest rooms on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. Each has a private bathroom and all rooms are within the same historic building (the 1st floor is all public space). There are two Whirlpool rooms available for that special evening. The other 37 standard rooms are anything but “standard”. Most guest rooms have either a king or queen bed, or two queen or two double beds. There are several suites comprising of two bedrooms with one private bathroom which is ideal for families and there are a few rooms with one double bed. Most rooms have two easy chairs and a desk.

All of our rooms have a telephone, alarm clock-radio and hair dryer. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available in the guest rooms and throughout the Inn. Each room has an individual window air conditioner during the warmer months. The Inn is non-smoking and also features a staff-run historic elevator.

There are no TVs in the rooms, however, if you do wish to watch the news or a special event during your stay, there is a public TV lounge on the 2nd floor and a large flat-screen TV in the main living room.

The room rates vary throughout the year based on the season and special events/promotions. The in-season room rates range from $159 - $229 per night for two people, which features a country breakfast on the weekends during that time period. Additional adults or children can be accommodated in most rooms for a small surcharge. To obtain a rate for a specific date, please check our availability calendar.

Cancellations & Deposits:
If you need to cancel your reservation, please email us at or call us at (802) 247-5766.
If you cancel at least 14 days in advance of the first day of your stay, we will cancel the reservation less $25 per room for our administrative costs.
If you have to cancel your reservation within 14 days, we will charge you 50% of the room charges.
If you cancel within 48 hours, or “No Show” you will be charged for the entire stay. You may use any charges made for cancellations as a deposit toward a stay at a later date, up to one year from the reservation.
Deposits are generally not required; however, some weekends do have special deposit requirements, and different cancellation policies which will be communicated when making your reservation. (i.e. Middlebury College Commencement weekend in May and Middlebury College Parent’s Weekend in October require non-refundable deposits).

Check In/Out:
Check in time is 3 p.m. and check out time is 11 a.m. There is no extra charge for early check in if the room is available or for late check out if guest checks with the front desk and they say it is alright. If late check out is not okay, and the guests do not leave the room, there will be a late check out fee of $35 added to the room charges up until 1:00 p.m. After 1:00 p.m. the guest will be charged for another day’s occupancy.

Guests are served a country breakfast on the weekends between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. during in-season, peak and some holidays. The breakfast is complimentary for up to 2 guests. Upon check in, the staff will inquire if additional guests would like the full country breakfast at a cost of $12.
You will enjoy a full meal which includes cereals and homemade organic granola with Vermont Cabot natural yogurt, fresh fruit salad, bagels with cream cheese, homemade muffins and pastries and daily hot items such as an egg dish, homemade waffles, pancakes or french toast with breakfast meats, breads, juice, coffee and tea. Gratuities for the staff are at the guest’s discretion.
Many guests come down for an early morning coffee, which is available, self-serve, approximately one hour prior to breakfast.

Dog Friendly Policy:
We welcome polite, well-behaved and well-socialized dogs with an advance reservation, however, some date restrictions do apply.
There will be a $25.00 pet fee, per day and dogs are limited to 30 lb.
Dogs may not be left unattended in the room at any time and must be on a leash or in a carrier when outside the room. The pet owner accepts full responsibility for any liability arising from their dog (pet damage or personal injury to hotel, hotel staff, guest, third party or property)

Note to our guests with allergies:
The 4th floor of the Inn is always kept “pet free” in consideration of our guests that may have allergies. Please advise us when making your reservation if you have severe allergies. Rooms choices on the “pet free” floor are mostly Queen bed or 2 Double bed accommodations.

Children are welcome with an accompanying adult. Pets are welcome. Pets must weigh under 30 pounds. Pets (dogs only) are $25 per day per dog. Dogs 30 lb or less are permitted. Dogs may not be left unattended in the room. Fourth floor is pet-free. $100 refundable damage deposit is taken upon check in.
